Courage is a willingness to act even when you don’t have all of the details. It is a willingness to do what you can with what you have despite the challenge or opposition.

Every Day I Pray: Prayers for Awakening to the Grace of Inner Communion by Iyanla Vanzant
I’m not sure where I heard it or why I believed it, but when I was in my mid-twenties few words changed my approach to and experience of prayer. The words were these: “Every thought you think is a prayer. Every word you speak is a prayer. Every act in which you engage is a prayer because the Spirit of God lives in you.

Emotional healing must be tended to like a garden.
We must prune the negative thoughts and emotions we have allowed to take root in our consciousness to make room to reseed with healthier thoughts, feelings and impulses for the future.

Your beloved host Iyanla has asked me to share a good word with you. I am honored to be your support this month:
Often, life allows experiences that will test our “courage.” When we hear the word “courage,” our thoughts naturally point us to acting brave in some circumstance. However, “courage” is derived from the original root word “cor,” meaning heart. Another way to put it is that “courage” is about the willingness to act in the face of opposition so that we may live into the fullest intention held within our hearts. “Courage” is the heart’s path. Next time you face opposition that tests your “courage,” lean in, and give the heart what it wants, for it knows the way.
